About Susy

Susy believes it’s important to preserve the crafts that have serviced people for thousands of years.  These include quilting, wood crafts, crocheting, and painting.  She is as comfortable with power tools as she is with a paintbrush and a camera.

She is inspired by nature, especially the ocean, and finds her voice in the abstract expressionist world of art. She is also a storyteller, using art to communicate those stories.  Ever the adventurer when it comes to art, Susy is continually trying new things. When a new idea is formed, it’s a matter of trial and error until the “right” materials are found to express her vision.

When Susy isn't making art, she teaches art. This is her way of continuing the art and crafts legacy. She is currently beginning her 17th year teaching children’s classes and adult workshops in Kingwood, Texas.

Susy and her husband Joe, happily married 38 years, have 4 wonderful children, a son-in-law, and a rambunctious whippet named Mach.
